Onerahi Kindergarten is home to a passionate team of four teachers supported by a part-time administrator. The kindergarten operates five six-hour sessions, Monday to Friday, catering for up to 40 children aged between two and six years. We are open 48 weeks per year, providing a vibrant and engaging learning environment for tamariki.
Onerahi Kindergarten offers a rich, child- and teacher-led learning environment grounded in Te Whāriki. The teaching practice empowers tamariki with choice and agency, enabling them to construct their own learning through meaningful experiences, exploration, and discovery. Onerahi kindergarten believe that through play and inquiry, children develop and refine their own theories about the world.
