Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking a committed and motivated teacher to join the team at Ruawai Kindergarten, Kaipara. This position will commence in early 2021.

Ruawai kindergarten is an Enviroschools Kindergarten. Teachers interested in this role require a willingness to align their practice to a kaupapa of sustainability. The teaching team at Ruawai promote a culture of respect, independence, and responsibility their philosophy and practice are evident of the values of manaakitanga, ako and whakawhanaungatanga.

Ruawai currently has a team of 3 teachers and a part-time administrator. This rural kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between two and six years of age. From January 2021, this kindergarten will be operational for 48 weeks per year. This 20-hour position will have varying daily hours.

Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking an experienced and motivated K2 Head Teacher to lead a committed team of teachers at Anne West Kindergarten, Kaitaia.

Anne West Kindergarten has a team of 4 teachers and apart-time administrator. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between two and six years of age. The children who attend this kindergarten come from the wider Kaitaia environs.

This inspired team of teachers view children as powerful, capable, competent, rich contributors to society. They see their responsibility is to advocate, empower, scaffold, and celebrate children’s learning. Whanaungatanga, Manakitanga and Kaitiakitanga are important aspects of practice at the kindergarten, who are also working towards their Silver Enviroschools recognition.
