Strengthening Community Through Tuakana-Teina: A Special Visit to Forest View Kindergarten
Celebrating Culture, Community and Connection at Forest View Kindergarten

In the seaside suburb of Onerahi, on the Whangārei harbour, Onerahi kindergarten is part of a diverse multicultural community with strong local connections and a welcoming atmosphere.
What We Offer
We provide a stimulating programme shaped by the strengths and interests of our tamariki, with opportunities for children to explore, create, problem-solve, and develop confidence through play and discovery.
With a safe, stimulating, and inspiring environment, we support children to become capable lifelong learners
We value strong relationships with whānau, the wider community, and our two local primary schools, helping tamariki feel supported as they transition through their learning journey.
We are an all-day kindergarten with a roll of 40 children. We have four registered teachers with a ratio of 1:10.
Caring for the environment is an important part of everyday life at Onerahi Kindergarten.
Through our vegetable gardens, worm farm, composting, and recycling programmes, tamariki develop an understanding of sustainability, responsibility, and connection with the natural world.
We warmly welcome whānau to come and experience our kindergarten community.
