Children enjoy the freedom and space of our large, flat outdoor area, most of which is either grass or bark. There is a covered verandah area and numerous shade sails. We provide opportunities for children to investigate nature through our natural area and vegetable gardens. Children enjoy gathering the produce from the garden to the kitchen to add to our lunches.
We are located next to Tikipunga Primary School and the children and teachers love to see the school children through the fence.
Indoors is a large open plan area with a quiet area for reading or resting. We also have a whanau wall that demonstrates the importance of the children and their families/whanau through photos and shared information.
We are well resourced and our programme focuses on developing the children’s strengths and abilities. This is documented in each child’s portfolio where the teachers add photo stories about their learning experiences and families/whanau are invited to contribute. Parents aspirations as well as children’s development and learning is documented in their portfolios and families appreciate the insight the portfolios offer into their child’s life.
We have four qualified and registered teachers with current First Aid Certificates and a low teacher child ratio of 1:10. We have an office administrator that works 25 hours a week.
Monday to Friday: 8.30am – 2.30pm
Our kindergarten is fees free – We believe that quality ECE should be accessible to everyone.
