Located beside Tikipunga Primary School, Tikipunga Kindergarten is a purpose-built learning environment with ample areas for both indoor and outdoor play.
The focus for our tamariki is building a positive learner identity.
What We Offer
Through whanaungatanga, we build meaningful relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the wider community, recognising these connections as central to children’s wellbeing and development.
Our programme encourages curiosity, communication, creativity, and deeper thinking through meaningful learning experiences.
We value connection with the natural world and provide opportunities for children to grow through curiosity, creativity, and play-based learning.
We have five fully-qualified and registered teachers with current first aid certificates. We are supported by an office administrator, and an on-site cook.
Tikipunga Kindergarten prides itself in having deep connections with the natural world with living play-spaces and a nature-based curriculum.
We embrace the Enviroschools kaupapa where we empower children, learn for sustainability, honour Māori perspectives, show respect for diversity of people and cultures and nurture sustainable communities.
We foster a deep respect for the natural environment and promote protection of Papatūānuku.
Our Nature Programme gives older tamariki opportunities to enjoy weekly excursions to a local bush area.
We also grow our own fruits and vegetables, cook kai over the fire pit and, with raincoats supplied, we get to enjoy being outside experiencing all the elements!
We welcome whānau to drop in any time to say hello and have a look around our kindergarten community.

Our kindergarten is fees free – We believe that quality ECE should be accessible to everyone.
