Forty Years of Aroha, Learning and Joyful Discovery: The Story of Kerikeri Kindergarten
Today, we celebrate. Not just the years, but the people, the values, the vision.

Kerikeri Kindergarten is a learning community where tamariki are recognised as capable and curious learners, and are given the freedom to play and explore connection with our natural world.

What We Offer
We understand that when children work and play, they are creating and modifying their own theories and inquiries of the world.
We believe respectful and responsive relationships are at the heart of quality early childhood education.
Guided by Te Whāriki, our child and teacher-led programme supports tamariki to explore their own ideas, make discoveries, and develop confidence in their learning.
We value whanaungatanga and manaakitanga, celebrating the unique identities, cultures, and perspectives of our kindergarten community.
We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi, embracing Te Ao Māori, and protecting and promoting Te Reo Māori within our everyday practice.
As an Enviroschools kindergarten and winner of the 2023 Whakamānawa ā Taiao Environmental Action in Education Award, sustainability and care for Papatūānuku are woven throughout our programme.
Tamariki learn through gardening, nature-based experiences, and hands-on exploration, developing a strong connection with the natural environment and their role within it.
We value strong partnerships with whānau and warmly welcome families to become part of our kindergarten community.
