Forty Years of Aroha, Learning and Joyful Discovery: The Story of Kerikeri Kindergarten
Today, we celebrate. Not just the years, but the people, the values, the vision.

Nau mai, haere mai. Te Timatatanga o Te Mātauranga is a bilingual kindergarten with a holistic approach to learning, advocating equal outcomes for Māori and ensuring that te reo Māori is not lost but thrives.
What We Offer
Guided by Te Whāriki and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Our tamariki learn through many play dimensions, like kaitiakitanga (guardianship), manaakitanga (kindness and support), whakawhanaungatanga (relating well to others), Nga Hononga (building relationships), Whanau Tangata (family and community), and te kaupapa toitu (sustainability) – all while having fun and being well cared for by experienced, qualified kaiako who have a passion for what they do.
We believe children learn best through play, exploration, shared experiences, and having opportunities to connect with their culture, language, and identity in a safe and caring environment.
As part of our kaupapa, tamariki are provided with parakuihi (breakfast), paramanawa (morning tea), and tina (lunch), creating opportunities to share meals together and strengthen relationships.
Our experienced kaiako are passionate about creating a nurturing environment where tamariki feel supported, valued, and empowered in their learning journey.
We welcome tamariki aged two to five years and warmly invite whānau to come and experience our kindergarten community.
Nau mai! Haere mai!
