Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking an experienced and motivated Teacher to be part of a talented and dedicated team at Comrie Park Kindergarten in Whangarei, to commence as soon as possible.

Comrie Park Kindergarten are leaders in sustainable education in Northland. As the first Green Gold Enviroschools Kindergarten north of Auckland, their commitment to sustainable partnerships with community is widely recognized. Comrie Park has an established Ngāhere Programme.

As a Kaiako you will be part of a welcoming and inclusive culture that is reflective of the attending community. You will enjoy working closely with whānau and supporting active children who love the outdoors. You will have skills and knowledge to role model sustainability.

NKA is seeking applications from qualified teachers who have the following attributes: -

  • Able to establish and maintain authentic and respectful relationships with children, whānau and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated, show initiative and will work collaboratively within the team.
  • Good communicator with all members of the kindergarten community.
  • Be able to write meaningful documentation.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of nature-based education and Enviroschools initiative.
  • Have a positive focus, a sense of fun and adventure as well as being passionate and enthusiastic.
  • The successful applicant will also be able to support the teaching team in their journey of weaving Te Ao Maori contexts in the kindergarten setting.

Comrie Park Kindergarten has a team of 3 teachers and a part-time administrator. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between two and six years of age.

Comrie Park kindergarten is part of a network of 25 kindergartens within the NKA. The kindergarten is supported by a professional practice and management team. The kindergarten will be moving to an All Year 48-week model in January 2022.

Applicants must hold a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification and First Aid certificate.

Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking an enthusiastic and child centered teaching professional to join the team at Manaia Kindergarten, Parua Bay, Whangarei.

Manaia Kindergarten is dedicated to sustainable practices and is currently working towards their Silver in Enviroschools journey. They have a weekly beach based nature programme. This dedicated team of teachers view children as powerful, capable, competent, rich contributors to society. They see their responsibility is to advocate, empower, scaffold, and celebrate children’s learning.

Manaia Kindergarten has a staff team of 6, made up of 1 full time head teacher, 1 full time teacher, 2 part-time teachers, a support staff member, and a part-time administrator. The kindergarten operates on a 48-week model Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between two and six years of age.

Manaia Kindergarten is part of a network of 25 kindergartens within the NKA. The kindergarten is supported by a professional practice and management team.
