Anne West Kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday, 48 weeks per year, catering for up to 30 children aged two to six years. The kindergarten is staffed by 3.5 teachers, a part-time administrator, and a cook.
We are looking for a Head Teacher who demonstrates:
· Strong leadership, management, and mentoring capabilities.
· Proven pedagogical leadership knowledge and experience.
· A clear vision and forward-thinking approach to teaching and learning.
· A deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the promotion of a rich Te Ao Māori learning environment.
· Proven community engagement and the ability to develop authentic partnerships with whānau, hapū, iwi, and the wider community.
· Commitment to the values, strategic direction, and professional expectations of Northland Kindergarten Association.
· The ability to establish and maintain authentic and respectful relationships with children, whānau, colleagues, and community partners.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with all members of the kindergarten community.
· A collaborative leadership style that empowers and grows others.
· A strong commitment to inclusive practice that recognises and celebrates the diversity of tamariki, whānau, and community.
· Demonstrated capability in kindergarten operations, including budgeting, enrolment management, staffing, administration, and effective use of resources.
· Self-motivation, initiative, resilience, and a positive sense of humour.

Applicants must hold a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification (minimum Dip Teaching ECE), current practicing certificate, and first aid certificate. Applicants must reside and be eligible to work in New Zealand at the time of applying.
