Tikipunga Kindergarten has been thoughtfully developed over recent years into a natural, intentional, and empowering space. Here, children thrive in relationships with adults who embrace diversity, promote peaceful interactions, and nurture well-being through social and emotional learning. Their philosophy reflects this commitment, with the aspiration: “The ethos of manaakitanga and kaitiakitangaare the essence of our work and play as we learn to get along together.”
We are seeking a kaiako who brings warmth and calm to the learning environment, values open and respectful communication, and recognises the potential in every teaching moment. You will actively uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi practices and foster strong, positive relationships with children and whānau, ensuring that every interaction supports their growth and well-being.
Tikipunga Kindergarten runs five six-hour sessions, Monday to Friday, for up to 40 children aged two to six. It operates year-round for 48 weeks and is supported by a team of five kaiako and a part-time administrator.
