Attributes you will bring to the role:
· Recent leadership experience in an ECE centre (3-5years) and highly effective communication skills in adult environments.
· A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga o Te Ᾱo Māori, and their relevance to Te Whāriki, the early childhood curriculum.
· Be an energetic, collegial professional, who is prepared to travel, and enjoys liaising with others inside and outside of our organisation.
· Skilled in coaching and mentoring others and being able to think analytically to provide motivational support.
· Personal credibility; responsible, reliable, and trustworthy with a high level of integrity.
· Be a highly motivated, collaborative and enthusiastic professional with current, in-depth knowledge of innovative and effective teaching practices.
· Conversant with Te Whāriki and its application in ECE settings.
· Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly kanohi ki te kanohi, as well as demonstrate strengths in facilitating large group meetings including professional learning opportunities.
· Being prepared to challenge thinking in supporting the growth of others.
· Advocacy for children and equity for children and whānau.
· A recognised New Zealand ECE qualification (minimum New Zealand ECE Degree) with a post-graduate qualification in Early Childhood Education desirable. Full Teacher Registration and a current First Aid Certificate are required.
