Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking an inspired and dedicated teacher to join the four-teacher team at Hikurangi Kindergarten, Whangārei.
Hikurangi Kindergarten is situated in the settlement of Hikurangi about a ten-minute drive north of Whangārei. Tamariki attend from both the local community and surrounding rural and coastal areas. The kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between two and six years of age.
The environment of Hikurangi offers a natural, un-cluttered, well-resourced space. Whānaungatanga and Manaakitanga values are a strong focus at this kindergarten, teachers welcome and encourage tamariki and whānau to be involved in their programme.

The team’s collective role is to enhance capability across NKA, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, with a strong focus on improving learning outcomes for tamariki. You will work alongside two other motivated professional practice leaders in supporting our25 kindergartens across Te Tai Tokerau. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in all areas of early childhood education. Your expertise will be to collaborate with other leaders and work directly with teaching teams to support high quality learning. You will play a pivotal role in delivering reliable, timely, and up to date professional support to our kindergartens and teams and ensuring all MOE licensing requirements are constantly met.
