Northland Kindergarten Association (NKA) is seeking a committed and motivated teacher to join the team at Waitangi Kindergarten, Bay of Islands.This position will commence in March 2022.
The teaching team at Waitangi Kindergarten are committed to an emergent, child focused, child initiated, play and resource-based curriculum embracing the principles of the national early childhood curriculum Te Whāriki. The children who attend this kindergarten come from a diverse range of cultures and travel some distance to attend this kindergarten.
Waitangi Kindergarten embraces and incorporates the Enviroschools kaupapa of sustainable practices and whakawhanaungatanga daily within their programme. In 2022, the teaching team are planning to include a weekly Ngahere programme into their curriculum.
Waitangi Kindergarten has four teachers and a part-time administrator. This kindergarten operates five 6-hour sessions Monday to Friday catering for 30 children between two and six years of age. Waitangi Kindergarten is operational for 48 weeks per year. This 20-hour position will have varying daily hours.
Waitangi Kindergarten is part of a network of 25 kindergartens within the NKA. The kindergarten is supported by a professional practice and management team.
NKA adheres to the employment conditions as offered in the Kindergarten Teacher, Head Teachers and Senior Teachers Collective Agreement 2019-2022.
Applicants must hold a recognised New Zealand ECE qualification (minimum Dip Teaching ECE), current practicing certificate, first aid certificate and provide evidence of full COVID vaccination status.
