We strive to uphold the unique bicultural heritage of New Zealand, Aotearoa and the principles of partnership inherent in Te Tiriti O Waitangi. We provide opportunities for our children to experience the languages, customs, music, art and stories of our culture. We will also recognise, respect and respond to other cultures within our community. Our environment combined with our children’s natural curiosity and interests will inspire and shape our programme guided by Te Whariki – the Early Childhood Curriculum document.
We have been embraced by the wider Manaia View School Community with invitations to share their library facilities and Pukeko Echo – home to Channel North and to events such as their Kapa Haka Roopu Rehersal for their competition. We look forward to a reciprocal relationship where we nurture our children’s transition to school through such positive experiences both there and here, and considering other ways that we can build on this.
Our vision is to build a community focused kindergarten that encourages children and our whanau to grow and develop a love for learning, and fostering respectful relationships, where children enjoy a sense of security and belonging.
Come on in and stay for a while – our doors are open.
