Paihia - Waitangi Kindergarten
Paihia-Waitangi Kindergarten is a "hidden treasure" tucked away behind the beach at Waitangi in the glorious Bay of Islands. Children attend from areas encompassing Kawakawa, Karetu, Russell, Opua, Paihia, Waitangi, Haruru Falls and Puketona. It has a roll of 30 busy children and is staffed by a dynamic team of 3 teachers and support staff.
This coastal kindergarten community has a wide social and ethnic mix and relationships with parents and whanau are valued as a vital part of their children"s learning. Families are welcome to join in activities whenever they can. Our resource based emergent curriculum delivered here is based on current research and educational theory, and helps to develop an excitement for learning, a strong sense of self worth and independence, and invaluable social and problem solving skills.
We"re also committed to promoting the Active Movement philosophy by the provision of activities and equipment which the children are encouraged to enjoy throughout the day. The aim is to provide positive movement experiences to stimulate development of both the brain and the body.

Monday to Thursday Mornings 8.45am to 12.15pm
Monday to Thursday Days 8.45am to 2.45pm
Friday Morning 8.45am to 1pm
Friday Afternoon Teachers Professional Time
20 free hours are available for all children attending the kindergarten over 3 years old.
