Manaia Kindergarten is currently participating in the Early Childhood Education ICT Professional Learning Project facilitated by Core Education and funded by the Ministry of Education. Information and communication technology is incorporated into our curriculum and children use digital storytelling as a means of sharing their learning and development with their families, community, and the wider world.
We have regular parent workshops to encourage family and community’s continued learning and involvement in children’s learning and development. Please check our kindergarten blog for a glimpse of our kindergarten programme.
Manaia Kindergarten is set overlooking the picturesque inlet of Parua Bay in the Whangarei Heads community. Children at Manaia Kindergarten explore their interests with support from enthusiastic teachers who encourage and challenge their learning. Substantial portfolios with stories and movies of children’s learning and development are valued parts of our curriculum.
Our teachers are dedicated to encouraging healthy lifestyles. We have achieved the Healthy Heart Award presented by the Heart Foundation and we are currently working towards our Active Movement accreditation through Sport Northland. We have developed a tight community with local schools, and have a quality transition to schools programme. We have a dedicated team of parents and whanau who work together to ensure the smooth running of the kindergarten and organize popular social family events.
20 free hours available for all children attending the kindergarten over 3 years.
